Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?
I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

I get spam all the time in the 3 different email accounts (all different vendors) as they are the ones I used on the internet.
There's one email account I ONLY use for communicating with financial institutions and fortunately none of them have been hacked and I receive ZERO spam in it.
I guess I'm not like some of the people in this thread, I don't panic or freak out about getting spam. It's just what it is and it takes me like 1 or 2 minutes a day to take care of what I do get. I have better things to focus my time and energy on.
i have uwed my mail for geez 20+ years i guess and never had these issies..BUT i have I have my suspicions where my mail got thrown on the darknet sadly i thought it was a legit funding but my friend showed mwe it was not and after i stop put in money my mail got in darknet (might hve taken a month or more) but my friend also told me there is no way you get away from darknet if you have been put on it...and this person should know as the person have a internet security firm
as my mail for unknown reason have been put on darknet i can+t do anything more then either just delete the messages or get a new mail addy :( this is just totally dumb as microsoft musdt be able help their users more then they do...they dont even come into these tjreads and answer anyone so why do we bother using hotmail accounts?
Likely you left you email address on a website, a store perhaps, that was hacked and the spammers got it now.
Microsoft blocks over 5 billion (that's a B) spam messages EVERY DAY. So they are doing something.
Why would you expect actual Microsoft Employees to come here and answer questions? They have better things to do with their time, like actually work on the issues that come up. If you want to talk to a Microsoft employee go to one of their Conferences that they hold every year. You'd be amazed at what you can learn.
You likely use a Hotmail account because you wanted something you didn't have to pay for.
There's no solution to spam. If someone found it they'd be very rich. Spam is just an everyday thing we have to put up with on the internet.
