My Outlook inbox is suddenly getting a ton of spam and I don't know how to stop it

Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?

I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

Suzi, I suggest you read as much as you can here before doing anything. Do check that your junk mail settings, etc. are where you want it and save it again. Block all the spam coming in inbox. I had the issue for maybe 2 months and it went away on it's own. I CAN'T say that will be the case for everyone, but that's what happened to me. PERHAPS others here had it resolved on it's own as well, but didn't bother to indicate that??

I am also finding that emails that are legitimate are going to the SPAM folders! While emails that are clearly SPAM are going to the focused! WHAT THE HECK!?
