My Outlook inbox is suddenly getting a ton of spam and I don't know how to stop it

Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?

I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

i agree. that nelson guy gives no help. who has the **** time to click email one by one, flag, report, etc. over and over. nobody wants to do this. gmail is very great at blocking. outlook not at all. they can but they choose not to. outlook is as **** as yahoo. i deleted my spam folder at 8 this morn. i had 150 spam emails a few min ago. im tired of this **** myself and im at the point that i no longer wish to keep my hotmail email because of nostalgia. peace of mind is outweighing that. nelsons as worthless as geeksquad.

You know there is no need to completely put aside. As mentioned I stop using it as “main mail”, then just moving the most important stuff and noticing your contacts about the change should be enough.

For others secondary things, notifications, subscriptions and etc. just leave them untouched and revise the outlook from time to time (and for make cleaning).

i'm sure microsoft makes lots of money doing this to us; you can eliminate, block, report fishing, unsubscribe ad nauseum and they will just come up with new ones

I have had this issue since August 2023 and it doesn't get better. As soon I have energy to move everything over to a new email address with another provider I will do it. The issue is that I have had my email address for like 15 years so it will be quite a lot of work but having all these spams everyday is more tiring. I'm sorry but there doesn't seem to be a solution and Microsoft doesn't seem to care 🤷‍♀️.
