My Outlook inbox is suddenly getting a ton of spam and I don't know how to stop it

Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?

I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

This was driving me mad and almost made me drop my microsoft email.

    My solution:

    > download the Outlook 365 desktop app from the "Office Suite".

    > in the junk email options set level of junk email protections to High.

All the junk email stopped straight away, My inbox is back to normal.

Perhaps a strategy from Microsoft to get everyone to buy a license?

Well well, I wonder eh? LOL.

FYI since posting my complaint on this Community Forum for Outlook Mail on 3 seperate threads of the same topic the Spam has almost, but not quite, dried up! funny that!

This was driving me mad and almost made me drop my microsoft email.

    My solution:

    > download the Outlook 365 desktop app from the "Office Suite". (if you subscribe or have a license)

    > select to Home>Delete>Junk>Junk email options ,

    > in the junk email options set level of junk email protections to High.

All the junk email stopped straight away, My inbox is back to normal.

This option is not in the online or store version of Outlook. Perhaps a strategy from Microsoft to get everyone to buy a license?

If someone starts a class action, I’ll join.

Yes I agree 100% this must stop.and almost overnight yet again around 50-60, or even 90 ''phishing spam junk'' emails have started to reappear in my JUNK folder again after quite a lengthy time of no such issues (Bliss).
This junk dump seems to start up out of nowhere - it all began back in summer 2019, when 100's a day would arrive in my Junk Folder, then after reporting and blocking them all to Outlook they dissipated, but then a few resurgences occurred.

All has been well until a few weeks before Xmas, then suddenly one morning I awoke to maybe 70 junk mails in my junk folder, and despite again reporting all of these day after day - they KEEP COMING!
They are always all the same -

from McAfee, Carshield, Netflix, Miracle Sheets, Fed Ex, Easy Canvas, Life Line Screening, Lowes, Ace Hardware, Peacock TV, Package Notification, Tinnitus etc etc etc

Come-on MSN OUTLOOK - you must be able to do something about this.

You are the only Email provider I have this incredulous issue with....
