My Outlook inbox is suddenly getting a ton of spam and I don't know how to stop it

Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?

I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

Same issues here! Block sender and report junk do nothing. It's 12:20 pm and already had 53 junk/spam emails today, many of them from blocked senders. Come on Microsoft, you should do better.

Microsoft is useless with the proof being that they expect their customers solve the problem. I'm not going to renew my subscription.

I block over a hundred a day and I am still getting emails form the same people! I have found someone is sending emails on behalf now. I wish Microsoft had customer support! This is consuming my entire day. I am a real estate agent so i cant' just change my email address. Microsoft used to have customer support to help with these situation. Any suggestions? I changed my setting to restrict emails from unknown senders however I am still gettting hundreds of junk emails a day. It takes up all my storage and the emails I need are now going to junk as well so i am constantly sorting them.

I have found the solution - the spammers have a way to replicate some email addresses on my “safe senders” list and impersonate the sender to bypass the filter. I deleted those “safe senders” from my list whose domains appeared in the message source (find the “view message source” option when opening the spam message to scan for domains of your safe senders) of the spam emails and since then do not receive any junk emails in my inbox! Needless to say, this was a solution I found on my own, the outlook.com customer service and their Tier 2 outlook engineers were not able to help at all despite repeated interactions.

    Hello M011OG.

I haven't personally had that with any of my safe senders but well done 😁 I think we all need to think outside the box to get this under control as it is clear MS have lost the plot and cannot deal with it.

I'm trying to understand more about the blocking emails/domain names. I right click on the spam email, scroll to "view" then "view message source". I open a blank word doc then copy everything with .com or .me into the blank word doc then add everyone to the "junk email" - "blocked senders and domains". I have no idea if this is the best way but I have gone from 40-50 per day down to 9-12 per day over the last few days of doing this. The below is everything from just one junk email looking at the message source... Maybe it could be (if the below is actually all the email accounts) that people post theirs so everyone can copy & paste into the blocked email/domain part?
