My Outlook inbox is suddenly getting a ton of spam and I don't know how to stop it

Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?

I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

Sorry your answer isn't helping at all. We're using email to subscribe to providers and websites. It's clearly outlook job to block these spammers. And users aren't supposed to click report for 30 phishing a day, it shouldn't be users' problem. Outlook security got issue.

I have gotten over 2500 unwanted e-mails since 02/05/24, today is 02/16/24. I have had to click on every single one and report it as phishing or send it to junk. How to do I filter out all this **** from even going to my inbox? When it started, I got over 1200 in a little over an hour!

IMHO this is and was an MS problem it all started for almost every one at the same time...MS knows but just doesn't care so consider joining a class action to resolve the problem

I've been experiencing the same problem for several weeks now. I've had my account for many years, even since before Microsoft bought Hotmail in December 1997! And for the last few weeks, I've been getting numerous spam emails every day into my inbox. This has never happened before. What the hell is happening at Microsoft that these OBVIOUS spam emails are now being routed into my inbox? I'm sick and tired of getting these notifications popping up on my phone! Yes, I can block the sender addresses using the Sweep function in Outlook, but I'm already beyond frustrated at having to do this every single day. If this problem isn't rectified soon, then I'll be ditching a personal email account that I've now been using for 27 years, and moving to an alternative provider instead.
