My Outlook inbox is suddenly getting a ton of spam and I don't know how to stop it

Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?

I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

These solutions aren't working. Reporting them as spam doesn't help.

What also does not help is creating a with the words you find in the subject. No matter if you create a rule to delete all mails with "keto", "bitcoin" or other scams in the subject, they still get through. After weeks of this and hoping Microsoft comes up with a solution other than those that don't work I'm starting to move to Google mail where, so far, no spam comes through.

I'm afraid Microsoft (or Google et al for that matter) are too big to need to listen to cumstomers and can go about this at their own leisure.

This issue still happening is absolutely unacceptable...

40+ emails a day.. spam, phishing, etc.

The fact that a billion dollar company has not resolved this is baffling........

The scripted useless advice from Microsoft is an obvious deflection of a real fix...

It is a shame that most people have to switch back to gmail or another service because Microsoft doesn't show the same urgency they do with their enterprise users.

My solution was just stop using Outlook as main mail. They have a problem of bots being able to create accounts so they can spam yours and because are from outlook they are not stopped by any (if even exists) anti-spam filter. On other services you have to verify your account by mobile or something so bots cannot do this so easily.

I even removed outlook mail from being synced on my devices. Bye bye outlook mail while this is not solved.

And if I had to hire some service for professional use, of course it would not be this one, given my experience as user, cannot risk to get this in my professional mail.

So, they have to solve both the automated creation of random accounts so easily and adding some effective anti-spam filter, i.e. sending to a spam folder messages from recently created accounts not in your contacts.
