My Outlook inbox is suddenly getting a ton of spam and I don't know how to stop it

Last week, my personal Outlook email started getting ~50 spam emails per day. I barely ever use this email address, so I am not sure how or why this began to happen. How can I stop all of this spam from getting to my inbox?

I have been flagging all of the emails as spam, but it doesn't seem to be stopping the influx of emails I am getting.

this is not an answer that works..ive had outlook for a very long time..at least 10-15 years. its all of a sudden this is happening and i block every one of them and they still send me emails. i think its a ploy by MS to get people to upgrade so they have to pay for this to be stopped. im about to switch to my gmail account and cancel everything related to MS.

I have the same issue, and it's getting really old having to click on each one 30-50 times per day to block sender/report phishing. And these are all coming to my Focused Inbox, so I'm receiving a worthless push notification on my cell phone each time, too. This has been happening for several weeks now, and it's incredibly annoying.

To block someone in Outlook.com, select the messages or senders you want to block.
From the top toolbar, select Junk > Block (or Spam > Block).
Select OK. The messages you select will be deleted and all future messages will be blocked from your mailbox. Hope this helps

You do realize that won't do anything, right? Spammers have billions of random addresses, subject lines to use. Another problem is Outlook seems to ignore blocklist. I manually added gmail.com domain but I can still send myself an email from my gmail account. It arrives safely in my outlook.com Inbox.

Agreed, it's like whack-a-mole blocking each email. There are no two emails from the same sender, it looks like they're all from a throwaway email address (for example, this is an actual address one was sent from: ******@rquojbrcfkwsurmictex.cnwpfjp2v8mq5mwxdfbmoi82ppi9pzo.net).

Is there a way to train the spam filter to filter these ridiculously obvious spam email addresses?
