Can't Generate 3rd Party App Password (AOL) for Outlook 2016 Desktop using Windows 11

I have been using Outlook 2016 Desktop for Windows for quite awhile to access my AOL - (Verizon.net) emails. Just recently, I can't sync my AOL emails to my Outlook 2016 Desktop app. I can not generate an app password via AOL in order to sync and download my new emails to Outlook. I have contacted AOL several times and they are NO help at all. How can I generate a 3rd Party App password to make my outlook work as before? Any ideas/solutions on how to get around this issue?

P.S. I am using Outlook 2016 Desktop (Windows 11), not Outlook 365 or Outlook.com app.

I had to replace my hard drive & reinstall Windows. So, I had to setup Outlook again.

I have several AOL accounts for different purposes, including some by family members that I monitor.

The 1st AOL a/c got added to Outlook OK with the AOL app-password.

Then, AOL won't generate app-passwords for other AOL a/c (message: This feature is not available right now). I kept trying.

AFTER 2-3 days, I could add 2nd AOL a/c with the app-password. But the same issue with adding more AOL a/c.

I will try again in 2-3 days.

It may be that AOL has some internal restriction on adding multiple AOL accounts to Outlook simultaneously.

No it is really flaky. It works sometimes and other times you get the error message. And AOL Help Desk is NO HELP at all. I kept trying and finally got it to generate an app password.

So, after 2 days, I was also able to add the 3rd AOL a/c to Outlook using the AOL app-password.

To summarize, the 1st AOL a/c was added right away, 2nd after 2-day wait, 3rd after another 2-day wait.

It may be a coincidence, but it seems that there is some method to this madness. AOL may be just waiting 2 days to generate app-password to add another AOL a/c to outlook.

It's not an issue with microsoft, it's an issue with AOL. The third party app password generator does not work anymore. That has nothing to do with Microsoft.

If AOL is not going to allow this to work anymore, then they need to allow the AOL email password to work with third party apps. Telling customers they're not going to allow it, and not allowing the existing password to work anywhere but the AOL email web site/app, is bad business.
