Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
I just tried again and it didn't work....again. Really frustrated as I have a ton of work to do and can't communicate with groups etc.

I have been using Outlook 2016 Desktop for Windows for quite awhile to access my AOL - (Verizon.net) emails. Just recently, I can't sync my AOL emails to my Outlook 2016 Desktop app. I can not generate an app password via AOL in order to sync and download my new emails to Outlook. I have contacted AOL several times and they are NO help at all. How can I generate a 3rd Party App password to make my outlook work as before? Any ideas/solutions on how to get around this issue?
P.S. I am using Outlook 2016 Desktop (Windows 11), not Outlook 365 or Outlook.com app.

I accidentally deleted one of my @verizon.net accounts from outlook 2021. I had an app password but it no longer works. And the app password generator AOL does not work. Like everyone else I have spent hours on this problem. First Verizon goes down then AOL!!! I really like outlook & have my whole life on it (like a filing cabinet). Please keep me in the loop.

Hi Lynne,
That is strange .. I just was able to generate an app password this morning (17-Feb-23) at 8:40 AM EST on AOL. My outlook is working fine. I am using Outlook 2016 Desktop. I am sure your are doing the same steps I am listing below, but just in case you aren't, here are the steps I just did and it WORKED!
1.) Login to AOL email Account
2.) Go to options (Top Right Corner)
3.) Scroll down to "Account Info"
3.) Go to "Account Security"
4.) Scroll down to "Other ways to sign in"
I am having the same issue after I had to reinstall Windows on my computer. I spent 40 minutes on the phone with AOL today (2/18/23) only to be told they probably aren't enabling this function but it worked for you yesterday so there is hope. I will keep trying and maybe I will get lucky. So frustrating.

It worked for me last week after months of not working. I went to try it again just now (19-Feb-23) and now it won't allow me to generate an app password!
