This thread concerns Yahoo mail being read on the Windows 10/11 Mail app. That's not clear in many of the posts in this thread.

This has been going on for some time and it seems others are having same problem is there a solution?

* Edit: As of 3 December 2023 the information below is still true.

There isn't a fix for this. At present, the workaround is to read these messages at https://mail.yahoo.com with a browser.

I've created a Gmail email account. And in the past ten days, I am almost done transitioning all my contacts from my "scrambled" yahoo account to the new Gmail account. You will also have to notify banks, health insurance, homeowners etc. of your new email address. Totally worth the time! In a couple months I will stop using/delete my old account (once all the important email contacts have been transitioned. Take the time and do this! Totally worth it! So far, all my emails are readable. You will also have to notify banks, health insurance, homeowners etc. Clearly there are a lot of frustrated people not getting answers. With my situation, Yahoo is pointing the finger at Microsoft, and I am not getting an answer from Microsoft either! Crickets!!!!

See response that Don Varnau has regularly shared in responses to questions the last few weeks.

"There isn't a solution per se. At present, the workaround is to read these messages at https://mail.yahoo.com or at https://login.aol.com/ with a browser."

I've been going to https://mail.yahoo.com to see my emails that are in code. It is frustrating to get so many yahoo emails in code and having to deal with the extra step of going to another site. I also worry about security when doing this. Unless a fix is developed by Microsoft soon, I will probably change my yahoo email address and go through all the hassle of notifying all contacts of the change.

Use the yahoo website and not the app.
