Gmail / Google - Browser does not support Javascript when trying to add gmail account to Outlook 365

I am lost and google search providing no answers!

I am getting a strange issue when trying to add my google account to Outlook 365

When adding a gmail account and connecting to google for auth, I am able to enter my email address, type of account, but after I submit my password I get the following error.

I even lowered security for the Internet zone to Medium and still no go My default browser in Windows is set to Chrome, it does have Javascript enabled as well - I use the gmail link all the time no issue and to check, I disabled Java in chrom and couldn't access gmail link, so I re-enabled it.

Apart from check this java setting in this browser, is there anyone that can get current google mail to work with current Outlook 365?

Thanks for any advice and help.

    A simple Reg Edit

    1. From the Start menu, type regedit.exe in the search box, and then press Enter.

    If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. 2. In Registry Editor, navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION 3. Find the REG_DWORD OUTLOOK.EXE and double-click to edit. 4. Select Decimal and change it to 11001 and select OK. 5. Close Registry Editor and restart Outlook.

    The work around editing the registry file worked as far as setting up the gmail in outlook but I ended up having sync issues that I cannot resolve. I've given up for now and am just using my gmail via the browser but to say I'm frustrated is an understatement. I do like outlook but this glitch is a major headache.

    Same for me. Purchased Microsoft Office 2019 and have used Outlook versions since 2005. No issues until my service provider partnered with Gmail in 2020. I migrated per their instructions and it worked as expected in Outlook 2019 until May 2022, getting this error as well: "The browser you're using doesn't support JavaScript or has JavaScript turned off" - BS because the browser does support java and it's NOT turned off.

    Part 2: "To keep your google account secure try signing in on a browser that has java script turned on "

    And, yes, of course, if I sign into the account on Gmail it works fine BUT WILL NOT work on Microsoft Outlook 2019.

    Switch to Windows Mail that comes with Windows 10 and it works fine... but I don't want to use Windows Mail.

    Switch to Microsoft 365 - doesn't work

    Please try the workaround guidance in this Outlook Known Issue article, Error 'This web browser does not support JavaScript or scripts are being blocked' when adding a Google Workspace account (microsoft.com).
