The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again. HOW LONG IS THAT MOMENT?

Today I received an email from Microsoft saying

Security alert
We think that someone else might have accessed the Microsoft account ed**___@___.___. When this happens, we require you to verify your identity with a security challenge and then change your password the next time you sign in.

I've changed logged in, went through the security checks, and I've changed my password, but now when I try to log in, it tells me

Something went wrong and we can't sign you in at the moment. Please try again later. The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.

I'm on a Mac, and I can't access it through the Mail app, nor through a web browser. I've cleared the cache, I've restarted both the app and the browsers and the computer, I've tried different browsers, as well as Incongito Window mode, with no luck. It works on my phone Outlook app, though. But I can't access my emails on my computer?

Any ideas? How long do I have to wait to try it again? I've allowed an hour to pass and I'm still experiencing the same issue.

Thanks.

And it sucks anyway. I'm done with this one drive. It's a crappy interface, crappy capabilites and totally UNRELIABLE AS IT TURNS OUT. Cancelling this subscription as we speak. Google has more to offer, I expected better of microsoft.

I am having this issue when I click on the photos that are fed to me through the "Your memories from this day" emails. When you click, the window that it goes to starts looping, and then times out. Fix this ****!

I have been having the same issue for several days. I see now that this is a common problem. Come on Microsoft! This is a very important issue that needs solved now.

I logged into my online account and see that for the past several days I have been getting multiple login attempts from all over the world, so my login id has certainly been compromised and I guess they are attempting to guess the password. How do I get around this so I can access my OneDrive account when I need to?

I just reported dozens of unauthorized attempts to access my account over only the past week. Each Time I receive a message that reads: "Don’t worry. This sign-in attempt was unsuccessful, so there is no need to change your password." Very comforting to know, except that these unsuccessful attempts also lock me out of my account. HELP WITH THIS ISSUE PLEASE!
