Today I received an email from Microsoft saying

Security alert
We think that someone else might have accessed the Microsoft account ed**___@___.___. When this happens, we require you to verify your identity with a security challenge and then change your password the next time you sign in.

I've changed logged in, went through the security checks, and I've changed my password, but now when I try to log in, it tells me

Something went wrong and we can't sign you in at the moment. Please try again later. The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.

I'm on a Mac, and I can't access it through the Mail app, nor through a web browser. I've cleared the cache, I've restarted both the app and the browsers and the computer, I've tried different browsers, as well as Incongito Window mode, with no luck. It works on my phone Outlook app, though. But I can't access my emails on my computer?

Any ideas? How long do I have to wait to try it again? I've allowed an hour to pass and I'm still experiencing the same issue.

Thanks.

Hello Draude! My name is Abdullah, and I will assist you today.

I am sorry to know that you are experiencing this issue. It is a good practice that you have changed your password. In the meantime, may I confirm if you have enabled Two-Factor Authentication as well for the account in question? Also, please take note that if we exceed the limit for the verification code or sign-in attempts, the system will not allow to get back into the account or send the code for at least a minimum of 24 hours. You will need to wait for at least 24 hours to sign in again to your account. Please don't make any more sign-in attempts for today.

Please let me know if the above information helped you. Thank you.

    Best,

    Abdullah

    Thank you for the reply.

That is good to know that the Two-Factor Authentication is enabled. Yes, sure.

    Thank you.

I'm still having the same issue. Although I can connect through my phone app, there's nothing I can do from my Mac Desktop (neither through Mail app nor Web browser). Still getting this message, despite It's been more than 24hrs...

    Any ideas?
