Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy

Thanks Don, for some reason, when I clicked to "read my post ... on this page" it brought me to a fresh
LOGIN page!
There, it asked to send authenticationi code, which it did and I approved.
Now, email is fine again.
This indicates that Microsoft seriously needs to rework how this thing is working.
For one, one must wonder why their servers are "detecting too many authentications" in the first place.
That doesn't seem right, becuase if some SCAMMER/HACKER is trying to gain access to people's accounts, we should be getting the "authentication code" thing on our phones!
Interestingly, a few weeks ago, this did happen, but I am not sure for which account. I just declined.
Since then, everything worked fine just until today (16Dec2024).
I'll have to make notes to remind me to just come here, log out and force a new login with authentication code.
Microsoft Community is writing a fresh Cookie that other Microsoft sites apparently like. Have you tried deleting Cookies per this suggestion?
