How do I move to next email from an open email? Little arrows have disappeared

How do I move to the next email when I am in an open email? I used to have two little arrows (for up and down) to scroll up and down open emails, but they disappeared. Now if I want to go from one open email to the next one, I first have to close that email and then open the next one.

If I press PageUp or PageDown or any arrows, it just scrolls INSIDE the open email. I'd like to move from one open email to the next open email (I used to do that with the little arrow icons that appeared when an email was open).

Can someone help, please?

    Melissa, do you use a Mac or a PC with Windows? I think the Ctrl and the period works only with Mac

    It's not any easier, but I did get Control and the period under the number keyboard to advance to the next message. I totally agree that the arrows need to be put back. Why would they even have changed it anyway?

    Thank you but this DOES NOT work for Windows 10.

    from other people who have Mac computer it may work, but for people who use PCs and Windows Ctrl plus any other button DOES NOT WORK.

    As you can see from the comments, this is a huge pain.

    Is it possible to pass this comment on to Microsoft and hopefully they'll bring back the arrows?
