Why is outlook suddenly opening a pop out window when i click on New Email???

I have had outlook 365 for years. Nothing on my end has changed. Suddenly (as of yesterday) every time i click on New Email a pop out window opens up (and the signature within my email is HUGE. About a 48 font yet the font showing is 12) This has never happened before and it is QUITE annoying. I have searched within the OPTIONS of Outlook and I cannot find anything with the option to open a pop out window when composing a new email. So there appears to be nothing for me to check/uncheck in this regard. As far as I know i have had no updates to Outlook that would have made this happen. Has anyone else had this happen and have you figured out how to stop it?????

    That fails to address or answer my question. I can't use my email like I used to because every time I touch the screen, the email I choose becomes a pop out. And there are many similar complaints to mine. Microsoft changed something on us and it BLOWS. Since it didn't used to be that way just six months ago, Microsoft has a responsibility to find a fix for its users who hate the change that has been thrust upon us.

    Again, how do we prevent emails from popping out? I have tried everything with reading panes, etc. and nothing is preventing this annoying and unwieldy bug.

    I am having the exact same issue. I have read through all the responses below and unfortunately none of them take care of the problem. Surprised that Microsoft hasn't taken care of it yet. Isn't this forum monitored? Would be nice to have a solution soon.

    This started on my email. I don't like my emails to pop out! I have tried all the suggestions here. I don't want a reading pane either. I use outlook web.

    Hello,

    I'm sorry for the late reply. The above steps are for Outlook web; for the Outlook app, please follow the steps below:

    1. On the File tab, click on the Options button.
    2. From the Outlook dialog box that opens immediately, click Mail on the left pane.
    3. Now, scroll down to the Replies and Forwards section and uncheck the box with Open replies and forwards in a new window option.
