Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Instead of clicking on the subject line, which opens a pop-out window, click on the message itself; this will open up the message as it used to do.

I have had outlook 365 for years. Nothing on my end has changed. Suddenly (as of yesterday) every time i click on New Email a pop out window opens up (and the signature within my email is HUGE. About a 48 font yet the font showing is 12) This has never happened before and it is QUITE annoying. I have searched within the OPTIONS of Outlook and I cannot find anything with the option to open a pop out window when composing a new email. So there appears to be nothing for me to check/uncheck in this regard. As far as I know i have had no updates to Outlook that would have made this happen. Has anyone else had this happen and have you figured out how to stop it?????

Could you please explain this to me, please?
"clicked first/last, and same with 'choose what I want to do"
I had the reading pane set to "hide" already. I selected "right", then "bottom", then selected "hide" again.
Thank you in advance!
I can confirm the above works. I just clicked reading pane (changed it to bottom), clicked first/last, and same with 'choose what I want to do'. Closed Settings then opened again and changed them all back again.
Stupid thing 'seems' to have gone away now.

I have a Surface. only use touchscreen. this popout window thing only happens on the Surface. this week, touches/clicks within the popout window don't respond. the new window is like reading a magazine. what the heck? none of this happens with my other laptops or desktops.
and, I don't want half of my small screen taken up with a preview. I want to see all of my emails/message headers, and then open within the app when I choose an email to read.
it worked like this for years. now this change? :(
I have the issue of replies opening in a new window but the relevant box is UNticked!
Thanks
