Hi! Thanks for writing back a response so quick! Now, I can go to sleep tonight feeling a lot better about things - you've been able to calm me down, and have given me enough green lights for me to actually try the new computer. I won't purchase the printer yet - I will check with the vendor about the drivers available for my old Canon iP2600. Cross your fingers that they have a driver that will show up - and if it's a driver for windows 10, I will reach out to them in their chat, or whatever they use for people like me to ask questions. Maybe they have a "forum" like Microsoft! And, it's very very encouraging that you've been able to install Office 2010 on your Dell that has Windows 11. Very encouraging indeed!

I clicked on the link you gave me above for drivers for the iP2600 - I must be blind, I'm not sure where you saw that there were actual drivers to download. On the page where the link brings me, it shows AVAILABLE DRIVERS zero. I went to usa.canon.com/support/p/pixma-ip2600 and i plugged in Windows 10, and tried Windows 11, and it does show 4 drivers, but, on another page it shows that the iP2600 isn't compatible with Windows 10 or 11. But, I can try.

And, I apologize for not using the right words for my thought process of migrating the browsers collection of saved bookmarks, along with the saved usernames, and passwords for those individual saved bookmarks. I know Chrome saves them, and so does Firefox, so, I copied all of them manually on notebook paper. I can always rebookmark or "favorite" them! So, yes, I was looking how to export my browser favorites (that I called bookmarked websites) along with whatever username and password I use to access those sites! I use two different browsers - but, mostly CHROME! I just thought when I download Firefox, and Chrome to be my browsers, that I could log into the Chrome Account, and the Firefox account, and it would give me the option of signing in as me, and everything would sync on the new desktop. I'm honestly so confused.

I should also tell you that originally this computer was used for my husband's gmail for his work. They had him download a bunch of stuff, to access his work email, and sync it with his laptop, etc. They even had a whole process of using a random generator kind of keychain thingy, that he would need to use to just log into his email. Even now, in the upper right hand corner of this Chrome browser, it says "Paused" ... and when I click on it, it says "sync is paused" ... with a message to sign in again... but I know I can't sign in, as he has been retired for several years. And, he no longer has that random generator key thingy. The Chrome browser I use was installed on this computer for him to access his email. His email address wasn't even a gmail address. But, his company called it a Gmail. It's pretty confusing to me. So, I'm not sure I can actually move anything.

I've made a new Gmail for myself, and I can pick myself as another profile to use on this Chrome browser, but all the saved stuff is on his profile! It's totally confusing, and I know i'm not writing it all down in a coherent way - and probably not the right vocabulary words either - Sorry about that!

I wish it was all easy peasy. For someone like you, it probably is really easy. You are so smart, and have so much hands on experience!

No apologies necessary. There is a golden rule about how easy something is no matter how experienced anyone may be - "If you know what to do - it's easy" Generally the biggest difference between an experienced person and everyone else is "the experienced person has made more mistakes (and learns from those) then the next person".

The other thing I will suggest is that you focus on one thing at a time - really east to get over-whelmed so for now am just going to provide 2 links on how to move data from one Chrome session to another so you can peruse them at your leisure

I followed your diagram above, when I used your link to find Canon Drivers for my iP2600 -- Even though the site lets you put in Windows 10 or 11 for my printer, it still comes up with 0 Zero drivers! I tried, really tried to have it show me some drivers to actually download, but, to no avail! I'll still try my old Canon first - hoping the new computer has a "plug and play" type thingy when I plug it in - Or maybe, "found new device" thingy! I also do not have the installation disc that came with this printer, as it is a hand me down from my son! It's been a great printer. And, it still works well! Maybe by some miracle, when I plug it in, it will work!

My dilemma is that the bookmarks and passwords are stored on a Chrome account that was my husband's when he worked for a company that had employees download chrome in order to use their gmail employee email addresses. Since, he no longer has that email address, I can't unpause the sync, as there is no way to resign in to his old account! So, I'm stuck. But, that's ok. I've got all the bookmarks, usernames/passwords safely written down.

I also use Firefox, and I've just copied everything down, and can always just go to my bookmarked sites, enter my username and password, and resave! I'm not too worried. I just wish, you know me, that it was easier to do! I don't even know what a HTML file is, or where to store it, etc. I guess I don't need to worry about that!

Because you have over time learned so much by your experience, (call it trial and error if you want) you are my expert! I appreciate your help!

As the youngins say these days - <my bad>. Took the easy way yesterday without actually trying to download the driver for either Win10 or Win11. The bad news is that there aren't any since the printer is no longer supported but you can download the drivers for Win7 should you need them - sorry about that. Never fails when I try to take the quick route to things

Depending on how much you use your printer, it may be viable to copy a file over to the WIn7 machine using a USB flash drive (flash drives are cheap) only a couple of bucks) and work from there

OR

You can break down and try the free online Office apps, upload the file you want to print from your new computer and then connect to the same file on your Win7 machine and print it from there

You really shouldn't need the install disc if you do, you can download the software from

*** not really a question of whether or not the monitor will work on the new computer, it's a matter of what video connector you have on the computer. Your monitor has a VGA and HFMI connector capability, so it depends what you have on your computer. May just be a case of getting a very inexpensive adaptor to connect the monitor to the new computer.

May also want to ponder a video A/B type switch to let two computers use one monitor if both computers would be close by to each other
