Outlook for Android is sending notifications for old emails.

From 2017 till now, Microsoft could have rewritten the entire Outlook program from the ground up. I have tried all their BS fixes like everyone else here and none of them have worked. It is hard to believe that Microsoft cannot isolate and fix this widely known problem with a small Android email client app. I just got a new phone with the latest software updates and a fresh install of Outlook for Android and the problem still persists. This is definitely a software issue and has nothing to do with which version of Android you have or which version of Outlook you use. I have had a problem with Android 10 and now with Android 12 and who knows how many Outlook updates have been installed?

Please fix this issue Microsoft. Hundreds of users are affected by this. For me it is only on the office 365 mail accounts.

This issue is infuriating, my mobile runs the latest build of Android 12 and the latest version of Outlook.  Over a 48-hour period, I received a recurring Outlook notification from Microsoft Community, telling me about Dennis' post above! I subscribed to this thread a long time ago now and though these notifications eventually disappear I never knew how they stopped.  Having tried so many combinations of suggestions to fix. Maybe it was fluke on this occasion, but the issue was resolved for me when I took the following steps:

• Clear the offending notification.
• Delete the offending message from the Inbox.
• Permanently delete the offending message from the Deleted items folder.
• Force Stop & Clear Cache on Outlook App.
• Relaunch Outlook. No doubt this will happen again.  I hold no hope that Microsoft will acknowledge and fix this issue anytime soon.  In the meantime, I hope the simple steps above will prove useful to others in providing a temporary solution (assuming you don't mind binning the offending message?)

So they say its a known issue with no ETA the technicians are working on it, keep an eye out for updates. Argh. So I just got a Pixel 7 added all my stuff emails etc and what do you know it's STILL DOING IT. A whole new device and still no fix. Changing from wifi to data causes it to renotify me of a whole heap of emails. Then randomly during the day with on data if I do get a new email it will re notify me of an old email. How am I meant to know if they are actually new emails or old ones??

They are too busy putting ads and clickbait in windows 11. Yeah they know we're paying customers, so what. We have no alternative without moving outside the office or windows ecosystem, and fixing the issue isn't profitable.
