Outlook for Android is sending notifications for old emails.

So I just got a brand new samsung galaxy. Didn't have any issues for the first 3 days, and then guess what? Yep, notifications for emails I already read 12 hours previously on the same device. The lack of communication and transparency on this issue is just infuriating and embarrassing.

Clearing the Data Cache worked for me, though I did do it a couple of times.

With me a similar error already for months. Android 13, Google Pixel Pro 6, German.

I keep getting notifications of emails that have already been read or deleted. A quick Internet search revealed that this error has existed for years without a solution being presented yet. Again and again the same useless suggestions: Clear cache, reinstall app, re-enable notifications only after a few hours, etc.

We pay for this and other Microsoft services. We expect them to work properly. The Outlook app cannot be used seriously in this way. When will this bug finally be corrected?

This issue is infuriating, my mobile runs the latest build of Android 12 and the latest version of Outlook.  Over a 48-hour period, I received a recurring Outlook notification from Microsoft Community, telling me about Dennis' post above! I subscribed to this thread a long time ago now and though these notifications eventually disappear I never knew how they stopped.  Having tried so many combinations of suggestions to fix. Maybe it was fluke on this occasion, but the issue was resolved for me when I took the following steps:

• Clear the offending notification.
• Delete the offending message from the Inbox.
• Permanently delete the offending message from the Deleted items folder.
• Force Stop & Clear Cache on Outlook App.
• Relaunch Outlook. No doubt this will happen again.  I hold no hope that Microsoft will acknowledge and fix this issue anytime soon.  In the meantime, I hope the simple steps above will prove useful to others in providing a temporary solution (assuming you don't mind binning the offending message?)

Please fix this issue Microsoft. Hundreds of users are affected by this. For me it is only on the office 365 mail accounts.
