Why does Microsoft want to charge me for Hotmail service when I have deleted almost all messages ?

I can't believe in the middle of a cost of living crisis they've decided to do this now.

I've had my email for 20 odd years everything personnel is linked to it and I pay for a business email I'm not paying for both bit I'm not receiving emails or able to send..

I've also deleted so many but it's not taking the storage down one bit!

That's not answering his question though. I've used Hotmail since the 90's. Why is it that we're are being charged all of a sudden for extra storage.? Since this OneDrive has been incorporated into Hotmail now you guys want to charge for it.? Why is my Hotmail even linked to it? I have picture's on my laptop and used the free one drive storage and for some odd reason it's now linked to my Hotmail account and now I can't get any of my messages wth. I've had to open up a different email account with a different provider just to get my email. Why are we even being charged for this? We are already being charged for this, that and the other already by Microsoft such as Microsoft office among many many other things that are now yearly subscriptions through windows 10/11 from Microsoft, this is ridiculous.

I am too not using it anymore, like Microsoft doesn't already charge enough as it is with their Windows 10. You can't even use Microsoft office without having to pay for it monthly or yearly subscription, it's a joke.

Hi, as of this morning, i'm having the exact same problem. I have cleared my Inbox, deleted hundreds of emails and cleared my One Drive completely and removed most of the attachements from the inbox and it still does not let me send or receice emails and asks me to buy storage. Is there someone i can talk to with Microsoft?

I have now been given a link by Microsoft to access visibility on my storage that i couldn't see before

Through this link i could then easily see and manage where my big attachments where.

Without this link, i had only restricted visibility with the changes Micrrosoft introduced.

So ASK MICROSOFT TO GIVE YOU ACCESS TO THIS VISIBILITY

Go into your Sent folder and delete your attachments there. Then of course, after Deleting, go on the Restore Deleted Items and delete them from there too. Microsoft did not give me functionality to delete all at once initially. Now with the above link, i got access to this functionality.

In case you don't get access, use the short cut keys to delete in bulk by:

1. check the tick box next to top email
2. scroll down the to where you want to delete in bulk
3. press Shift key and then check the tick box next to the bottom of the email for all the bulk and all your tickboxes will then get checked
4. Obviously ensure you are deleting the right stuff
5. Delete
6. After sending the emails to Delete Items, delete the emails from Deleted Items.
