Why does Microsoft want to charge me for Hotmail service when I have deleted almost all messages ?

I have used hotmail for free for more than ten years. Today I received a message from Microsoft telling me that I don't have enough space and I cannot send or receive messages. They say I have to pay monthly or annually to be able to do that. I have deleted almost all my messages from Hotmail, but the message is still there. I feel Microsoft is forcing me to pay for hotmail now.

    After I posted this post, Microsoft sent me a link to be able to delete multiple emails in bill in my Sent messages. It was very simple but they were not giving users the ability to see which emails were the problem. Once they sent the link, I deleted what I didn’t need in my Sent folder in 5 minutes and I got my email back, without paying.

    I think they have purposely done it this way so that most people would pay.

    I too have had my Hotmail account for over 20 years. I ended up paying $7.41 for two or three months, and then I stopped and sure enough, all incoming and outgoing messages stopped. All messages deleted from junk mail folder and deleted folder. Then I saw where I could purchase 50GB for $0.99 and I purchased it and I STILL CANNOT SEND OR RECEIVE EMAILS EVEN WITH THE EXTRA 50 GB OF STORAGE!!! This is the GREATEST PROOF YET that Microsoft is just riding us legacy hotmail users “roughshod” and trying to “force us” to shell out money every month for products we don’t need!!!
