Why does Microsoft want to charge me for Hotmail service when I have deleted almost all messages ?

I have used hotmail for free for more than ten years. Today I received a message from Microsoft telling me that I don't have enough space and I cannot send or receive messages. They say I have to pay monthly or annually to be able to do that. I have deleted almost all my messages from Hotmail, but the message is still there. I feel Microsoft is forcing me to pay for hotmail now.

    Please check your OneDrive storage on the link below to see how much OneDrive space you have.

    You can delete the message and attachments from your OneDrive that took a lot of your mail storage, and you don't need them.

    That’s not helpful at all. I did all mentioned above and I’m still not able to use anything without paying.

    I had my email 20 years and now I’m being charged also.

    This needs recitifying or hotmail is going to loose accounts.

    I refuse to pay for a service Iv had free for 20 years.

    Hi Janbaz, I have exactly this problem, I cannot receive emails in my hotmail as from last night although i have deleted loads of stuff and there should be room now. I live in Oslo, Norway. Do you offer online support to help with this, and how much would it cost? Or is it not possible to solve it. Thanks and best wishes, Liselotte.

    I'm really cross about this too!

    How ****... What a pain! And no I'm not going to pay.

    Will just have to accept difficulty of switching to a new email service....

    Bad form Microsoft!!
