Why does Microsoft want to charge me for Hotmail service when I have deleted almost all messages ?

I have used hotmail for free for more than ten years. Today I received a message from Microsoft telling me that I don't have enough space and I cannot send or receive messages. They say I have to pay monthly or annually to be able to do that. I have deleted almost all my messages from Hotmail, but the message is still there. I feel Microsoft is forcing me to pay for hotmail now.

    The Hotmail/Outlook Email services have been integral to software for decades. Charging users for an already included email service is akin to purchasing a car and then being asked for a monthly fee for the engine. There was no prior warning or notification that Windows users would be subject to fees after any trial period, this amounts to Corporate financial extortion at the highest level.

    its a damned disgrace - msoft are into gouging try to sneak in charges for email etc by wacking u with extra storage charges - they need to be reported to all countries for their what i consider to be fraud conduct- just dump them and use google - msoft they are nothing but a pack of wolves- m heffernan

    Same thing I'm experiencing. It's such a scam.... and you can't get ahold of anyone to get anything done.

    Why are we allowing the 1%ers to convince us we want and need robots/AI and not real live people to service customers? No one wants this **** they're forcing on us. And now fees for email!? ****. Take me back to dial up, thank you.

    Anyone know how to get around this BS?

    Microsoft,

      Hey guys unfortunately I have no choice but to find a different Email service....

    After 26 years with the same Email I have to find a different service. One that will hopefully not screw their customers like this. In my Job I need to send and receive emails constantly. All of a sudden it says I need to pay at least $70 f&ckin dollars to use what has been mine to use for 26 years. This Poorly thought out move could possibly cost me my position in my company. IF this happens a HUGE lawsuit will be happening... Looking like with the amount of people that are unhappy, that a class action isn't to far fetched... Hit me up if Any of yall start one. F@ck You greedy Microsoft! People are poor and barely making it...

    20years down the drain! WOW after deleting so many memories & emails it still says there's "NOT ENOUGH SPACE?!" BYE BYE you GREEDY CORP! I'm switching to another free email.
