A Shared Outlook calendar shows wrong timezone in Google calendar.

I have the same problem, and judging by the 53 people who voted up this exact question on the google calendar support forum, there are more of us. Wrong timezone when adding Outlook Calender to Google Calender - Google Calendar Community

As described by the first person, my outlook calendar, computer and google calendar overall have the same time zone. However, the shared calendar automatically is in "coordinated universal time" for some reason, and this is impossible to change. (this is also why the answer above unfortunately does not help).

One difference though: For me, the problem only occurs when someone has made a shared outlook appointment in another time zone and then sent it to me in outlook.

Example 1:

My boss has sent me an appointment in outlook. This appointment appears in google calender and in outlook in the correct time.

Same things goes for shared calendars from my work place.

Example 2:

My colleague in the UK has made an appointment in UK time and sent to me in outlook. This is displayed in Swedish time in my outlook calendar with a message that it has ben edited to fit my time zone. However, this appointment is displayed in google calendar as being 2 hours later than Swedish time, i.e, neither using the UK time zone nor the Swedish time zone.

The timezone in Google Calendar (when sharing from Outlook) is fixed (GMT+00.00) Coordinated Universal Time. With no option to change. On the web, all my Outlook times are off by 7 hours. On my Google Calendar phone app, the times are correct.

It seems like a simple fix would be to allow changing the time zone for imported calendars. Why is this disabled? My imported calendar is "stuck" on "(GMT+00:00) Coordinated Universal Time" (it won't allow editing).

It's super frustrating to not be able to import my work calendar into my personal calendar. This means I have to have two apps, two widgets, and every time I try to schedule an appointment, I have to check both calendars.

I created and hosted my own solution for this problem, because I really needed something that works quick.

To put it in simple terms, the solution is only replacing your original .ics URL by prepending it with https://ics-changer.great-site.net/?ics\_url=

For instance, if your original link was https://link-to-original/calendar.ics, use instead https://ics-changer.great-site.net/?ics\_url=https://link-to-original/calendar.ics

Disclaimer: my hosted solution above is just a convenience, you might also host your own server instead!!!

Yes, same here. I cannot edit the timezone of the imported calendar which I think is the main issue here.

I tried to change my main timezone to match GMT+00 and then back, but the issue still persists!

Just allow us to change the timezone of imported calendars!
