Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook on the web for business
Hello everyone,
The ribbon is at the top, but you have to first click in the body of the new email for it to become available.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
For some reason I've lost the toolbar at the bottom of the email that allows easy changing of fonts, colours, layouts and attaching files without having to open the format text menu or Insert menus, the ability to edit text has become almost impossible as well. If I paste in text and it changes the font size and test style, I then would typically highlight all of the text and then just click the font and font size options but NOW IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. Microsoft, fix all of this ASAP.
Totally agree. Why they wouldn't let people know this change was going to happen I find truly befuddling. A lot of people are having to waste a lot of time figuring out this new toolbar placement.
This happened to me today and it is beyond aggravating. All of the formatting buttons I need when composing an email are spread across the top of the screen rather than conveniently located within the compose/reply screen.
Even if this was rolled out to "improve aesthetics" as seems to be indicated here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook\_com/forum/all/how-do-i-move-the-message-ribbon-back-to-below/b29f8270-78c6-4d8f-a0d7-e27c3cd315f5, users deserve to have the option to keep the ribbon settings as they were. Especially for those of us that spend ALL DAY ON EMAIL and deserve to opt-out of absurd or inconvenient changes.
Not to mention, Microsoft did not announce this fairly significant change in primary functionality causing people like myself to have to learn on the fly what's going on while working by COMPOSING AND REPLYING TO EMAILS.
Very disappointed in Microsoft. URGH. Please restore the old ribbon settings ASAP.
Thank you Michele Guyor-Borthwick!
Curious on the total cost of productivity lost in one day of all companies that use MSO when they decide to "update" or make these types of changes.
