Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Hmm...it fixed it for me, but I'm not sure what else could do it. Maybe open your own answers thread to get some fresh attention from the support staff.

New Outlook won't let me add my outlook email account. "This email account cannot be added to Outlook" Advanced setup does not work either?

Found the solution in the meantime: I had my own email address set as the primary address for the MS account; after making my @outlook.com address my primary in Microsoft account settings (Your Info - Sign-in preferences), signing out everywhere through Advanced security options and waiting a few hours, now everything works just fine.
Same for me, I can get Google mail to work but not Outlook.com. My credentials are all correct as I can sign in to Outlook on the web and into my MS account. I also have same problem if I try a different computer.
Interesting, but that change to make outlook.com account the primary sould not be necessary... this looks like a Microsoft Bug , doesn't it?.
On the other hand, did you encounter any issues when returning the other acount back to primary?
Thanks for reply
I'm not trying to make Outlook the primary account, just trying to add it in so that I can use it. If I run a trouble shooter it just gives me meaningless numbers.
