Change default location for downloading attachments

Same issue, different flavour - New Outlook desktop client, I click "Download" and it downloads to my OneDrive. Took me like an hour to figure out where the heck those files were going. There is a separate selection for "View in Onedrive", but currently it seems "Download" does the same thing?

Not cool. "Download" means locally, for offline purposes.

I hope this gets fixed!

I just wanted to say thank you to the users in this thread who confirmed my belief that the "new Outlook" product is causing this problem. Like many here, I spent a good half hour searching for a simple file I needed downloaded from an email to my computer, which never actually downloaded.

If not for your comments, I may have continued doubting myself. Microsoft did poor work here.

What I do now is that I use regular Outlook if I need to save a file and PRE Outlook for other things. Three apps are needed to have one mildly funcional.

I was also having that issue with the new Outlook and found that following the instructions earlier in this string was useless. I did find that if you use Outlook in Chrome or whatever browser you use, you can save the attachment to the folder you choose.

Open Outlook in a browser, not the desktop app.

Click the message with the attachment.

Click the dropdown arrow to the right of the attachment.

Select preview.

Right-click download at the top of the preview pane.

Select "save as," then choose your folder.

This worked for me and I hope it works for you. I don't like that I have to use it in a browser, but it saves me the extra steps and the frustration.
