Will there be a way to continue using Windows mail instead of the new Outlook?

Well, we have been forced Outlook down our throats. For me, I was forced to switch to Outlook by Windows itself and I use Windows 10 Pro 22H2. Windows basically told me, "oh, we have detected you are using this outdated app. here, let us close it for you and install Outlook in the background to open." What's your explanation for THAT?

SO we are allowed to keep on using the windows mail app, BUT to do so, you'll have to manually change to windows mail every single time, because it keeps opening outlook even though I specifically open the windows mail app, what's even more, I keep on deleting the outlook app and it just installs itself without my consent every single time I try to open the mail app.

outlook is just so damn intrusive, not only does it force-install and open itself every single time I want to read mail, it also has these annoying ads disguised as unread mails, which is one of the most annoying features ever.

I just don't get why MS wants to show us ads in a service that has been free of charge and ads since forever (hotmail client, windows mail) it's not like one of the biggest multinational company actually needs the ad revenue from such a app as it's just a drop in the ocean for them. the decision to "discontinue" mail in favor of outlook is just one of pure greed. if this **** continues I'll just have to find another client that isn't as intrusive as outlook.

For me, I will just keep fighting it as long as it will keep working. I have downloaded MSIX installer for old version of Windows Mail and Calendar communications app and I intend on keeping it safe and protected on my Google Drive for a solid backup. If at any point I get tired of doing this or this method stops working, I'm THEN switching email clients or using email clients from my web browser. Also, you can block Outlook and it's processes from accessing internet using Windows Firewall, just saying - I use Avast Firewall for that myself which helps me automatically detect any connections this **** is tying to make and allow me to block them :>

Outlook has auto installed three times now and I keep uninstalling it without opening after trying once, lately no auto installs for a month so maybe hope? For me windows mail and calendar app that's that comes with windows 11 is so simple and easy and does not feel intrusive, adding multiple email addresses is so intuitive and simple, not so in outlook, I found when tried it it did not even port over all my addresses and settings and would have to do manually, plus the personalization is better in Windows mail and calendar as I can add a background picture which makes it more personal. If someone finds a way to block it auto downloading and remove the annoying "try outlook" plug in in windows mail and calendar app let me know, when will Microsoft listen to users and not force things on us we do not want, Microsoft will obviously be sneaky and at some point and remove Outlook from Microsoft store and incorporate into an update, I would like the choice. Try Outlook thing isn't that bad as you can simply ignore it. It's just there to market the new product. BUT automatic closing of the app and forcing download and install of another program should be prohibited by law and banned in society in general - It should be a tactic to publicly shame for and one to make others stop using Microsoft's products as much. I think if you use Windows Firewall you might be able to stop Outlook from even downloading in the first place but I'm not sure about that. Maybe look for some 3rd party GitHub apps? Good luck either way! By the way, the one thing that's recently annoying me with Calendar in specific is that it keeps removing my Gmail synced events I add to it. Anytime I add the events to sync them with my Gmail account they simply disappear and that's annoying, and yet, my Calendar app on an old Huawei phone which also syncs my events from Gmail calendar keeps everything I add to it just fine. This may just be a bug but it's annoying as all hell and I'm not quite sure what to do with that.
