No 'SAVE AS' option for attachments in new Outlook desktop app

Dear All,

Outlook offered to switch my application to the new Outlook version (there is a switch item below the window close button).

It looks like the in-browser version and works better than the former, but it has a missing option in the attachments drop-down menu, called 'save as'.

We get a lot of documents in our emails, which should be saved in different projects' locations on a local hard drive. The in-browser version and the former desktop app have this option but this new app does not.

How can I add this function back again?

    I agree, it is confusing and very time consuming. I just spent the better part of an hour to look at fixing this. I would actually prefer you rolled out new versions when they are ready or without hugely important elements like these missing. I am running a small office and have lots of attachments to deal with and figuring out the latest changes in Microsoft, which I was happy with in the first place, takes up too much of my time. I would really prefer fewer and completely thought through changes.

    Here we are TEN MONTHS LATER and still no Save As. That just might force me back to Classic. I am barely tolerating several other shortcomings, I mean, "improvements" in this version but that one's going to be REALLY annoying if they don't fix it very soon.

    But wait, it gets better! Can't drag and drop the attachment icon out of Outlook to the desired destination either. Who the heck approved that?

    UPDATE: If the attachment is a file type you can preview in Outlook, open the file preview. After a moment you can try the keyboard shortcut CTRL-S to bring up a Save As dialog. That's fine as long as A. it's a file type you can preview; B. Outlook doesn't have a seizure trying to preview it; and C. there isn't a reason NOT to preview the file even if you could (security, privacy, large file, etc.). So we still need the original drop-down from the file icon to include SAVE AS.

    That is exactly my situation. I started with the PWA version but had issues with Chrome not working properly and many reloads. Another problem I found is the ability to "Pin" the classic ribbon to the top of the page. I really like the classic ribbon but every time I open the app it defaults to the simplified ribbon. I thought once the desktop version came out there would be a way to set the default ribbon to the classic ribbon. But unfortunately there is no such option.

    I've gone back to the PWA version until the desktop app has a save as function.
