Add folder from a shared mailbox to favorites

Hi,

I am using the "new" Outlook for Windows. It seems that it is no longer possible to move a folder from a shared mailbox to the favorites folder. This used to be possible in the "old" version. Is this feature gone or am I overlooking something?

Thanks for your help.

so this issue has been raised almost 2 years ago. has there been any update to have this option back or you just leave people to continue dislike your products and getting frustrated during the work?

You can add my name to the list of people that need this feature. We have new orders go to a shared email address. It is at least as important if not more important inbox than my regular inbox. It needs to be right there at the top. Without adding it to favorites it is buried way down under all my folders. I can't use the New Outlook until that capability is added back in.

    Thanks!

I have returned to using Classic, we might revisit "NEW" in June again, as we are not desperate yet.

From a previous post on here, I found a setting in the 365 admin area.

Settings > Org Settings > Organization Profile > Release Preferences > Select release type.

You can use this for everyone or selected users. New Outlook wasn't immediately updated, so I checked it the following day and I now have the feature.

I must say though... this was a feature that was holding me back from using new outlook, but having used for a couple of days with this feature, it is absolutely awful. Stick with classic outlook. I really hoped it would be a copy of OWA, but it's not. It all looks and feels dreadful, still missing some features (like quick actions for group mailboxes) and duplication of information (i.e. attachments appear twice in emails - why?! 😅)

If you like it though and need this feature - the settings above should get it working.

Yes… “February 2025” in the Microsoft Calendar, so I guess that means we should expect it around September - October? 😆

It’s now mid-March 2025, I’m on the latest version of New Outlook, and this option is still not there. Any updates on when (or if) this is actually coming?

I would love to hear if there’s any progress or if I should start planning for 2026...
