For one glorious month I had my tasks and my emails and my calendar all in one view in New Outlook with its oh so handy e-mail filing tool , and now the tasks have buggered off again, I fear we are entering a spiral where as it gets harder to use the tools, those developing them expect to do less and less work and we end up with organisation full of people whose main job is "trying to use Outlook/Teams/365/planner/toDo/MS Project/Sharepoint/powerautomate/powerBI" and they have forgotten what it is they are actually supposed to be doing. HTne tey end up creating a new notification to let me know everytime someone stops scratching their backside. Surely it is not too much to be able to create a task from an e-mail, assign a deadline and a duration, have it added to your calendar and to be able to click and drag the task to arrange and manage your time? How hard is it to get all these apps to talk to each other to function in the way that people actually work rather than in the way AI thinks we work? None of this is rokcet sceince and a suite of prodcuts that actualy drives productivity rather than "engagement" aka bashing away trying to figure out what the heck it is you are trying to do to the point where you forget what it is you were doing and go and get another skim soy tumeric latte. there is a reason that half the world has a productivity problem right now and overcomplicated IT is it.

For anyone else looking, the To Do is (at least as of now) in the New Outlook view. In the upper right area near the close/minimize/maximize buttosn there's a calendar and checkmark icon next to the notification bell. Hit that and it opens a calendar/to do pane.
