Text disappears or distorted while typing on Outlook (Office 365)

I just managed to fix this with the latency mode setting in the Nvidia control panal. I have also noticed that it is very bad when running at 144Hz but less at 120Hz refresh rate before the Nvidia control panal fix thing. could it be something to do with heigher refrese rates?

Protecting them with excuses won't do anything to encourage them to fix the problem. They should not be shielded for their lackluster product support. Microsoft Office is the only product that has this problem and it's only newer versions of Microsoft Office so obviously they're not doing something correct and they started doing something differently than they used to. They removed the ability to disable hardware acceleration in the Office suite, which may have yielded a simple fix, so there is that example. Less desirable competing products from openoffice.org, Corel and LiberOffice do not have this issue, and we would not have this issue if they cared enough to fix it. It is unfortunate we have to find workarounds because of their incompetence. If it were a common problem affecting other software products it might be appropriate to not blame them for it, but it stands alone as the only one.

The fix that finally worked for me was uninstalling the AMD drivers that come with Windows 11 and installing the AMD: Adrenaline Edition software/drivers. Since then, I haven't had any issues at all. I know that doesn't help anyone not using an AMD card, but thought I would share anyway. Maybe it somehow helps direct troubleshooting for others.

Try updating the video driver for your operating system.

According to your description, the issue of your concern that your text disappears or distorted during the typing on your Office 365 Outlook desktop client.

First of all, please be kindly to understand to give an attempt for following steps:

1. Right-click the Start button  (lower-left corner), and select Apps and Features on the pop-up menu.
2. Select the Microsoft Office product you want to repair and select Modify. **Note:**This will repair the entire Office suite even if it's just one application you want to repair such as Word or Excel. If you have a standalone app installed, then search for that application by name.
3. Depending if your copy of Office is Click-to-run or MSI-based install, you'll see the following options to proceed with the repair. Follow the steps for your installation type.

Click-to-run

In the window How would you like to repair your Office Programs, select Online Repair > Repair to make sure everything gets fixed. (The faster Quick Repair option is also available, but it only detects and then replaces corrupted files.)

MSI-based

In Change your installation, select Repair and then click Continue. 4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the repair.

In addition, please give it a shot by creating a new profile as below:

1. In Outlook, select File> Account Settings > Manage Profiles
2. Choose Show Profiles > Add.
3. In the Profile Name box, type a name for the profile, and then choose OK.
