Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
The solution (for now):
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
How do I move the task bar (has apps: mail, tasks, calendar, etc.) back to the bottom of the screen? Is this called the task bar? I can't figure out how to restore the settings. See picture.

Thanks for the advice - this worked for me. I understand making changes, but it's frustrating that it just gets forced on you and then you have to go through these steps to get back to where you want it. I use 3 screens at work so something like this may seem small but it can make a big difference when you have been doing it the same way for a long time and you're used to it. While I probably would get used to the new way, I'm not sure the benefit would outweigh the frustration of the change in the long run. I do appreciate the feedback though.
This worked for me!:
Go to File
Select Options on the bottom left
Select Advanced on the left menu
Uncheck the first setting, Show Apps in Outlook
That will revert to the "classic" Outlook navigation bar and move it back down the bottom. (You'll have to restart Outlook for it to take effect.)
Hi Gabriel,
I understand the intent is to match the "theme" of other Microsoft programs (e.g. Teams) with the task bar on the side. The issue with doing this on Outlook is there are only 5 buttons to click. Because of that I now have a significant amount of wasted space that was previously usable. Seems like at a minimum it should be an option to toggle between vertical on the side and reverting to horizontal on the bottom.
I used to have the option to uncheck the "coming soon", but that was removed from my outlook this morning.
Just logging my official complaint.
I totally agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
