How do I change the display name of emails on "New Outlook"?

Huh, I've been trying to contact Microsoft Support about this matter, but there is no phone number or email anywhere?

I am a Mac user, but I have to use Windows computer at work. I have tried to make this "name thing" work. It doesn't. The regular outlook app is horrible.

I suggest investing in a Mac since Apple mail is golden.

Hi, All well and good to revert to Classic Outlook but if one recently loaded New Outlook there is no toggle and no way to change to Classic - correct??

So is Microsoft going to fix this or what? It's now 2024 come on.

After much trying (and patience), I figured out a way to change the name on the NEW outlook.

(Without any support from Microsoft, obviously)

PS - These steps are for business accounts that are connected via Gmail.

Steps:

1. Log into your Gmail account.
2. Go to the Settings logo on the right upper corner.
3. Go to "Manage this organization".
4. Click on "Update a user's name or email".
5. Select the user by entering the name, even if you have only one user.
6. Click on "Proceed".
7. Enter the name you want.
8. Click on "Update user".
9. Refresh the page, as the change might not show up immediately.

If the name doesn't appear on Outlook yet.

1. Remove the Gmail account from Outlook and add it again.
2. Shut down and restart your computer if it hasn't shown up.

I had to shut everything down and start it again and send a few check emails. But it finally showed up!
