My account has been blocked for some reason.

When trying the:

Enter your phone number and we'll send you a security code We'll send a verification code in a text message. This helps us eliminate spam – we won't give out your number. The code will expire in about 10 minutes.

I keep getting: We cannot send a text message to this number.

Tried different mobile numbers, tried from different browsers and PCs Have tried forgetten password, but still keep getting my account blocked.

How do I get the code?

I see lots of other post about this, but none have worked for me.

    I'M WRITING THIS IN CAPITAL LETTERS BECASUE THIS TOOK ME AGES TO WORK OUT:

    IF YOU ARE GETTING THE: "WE CANNOT SEND A TEXT MESSAGE TO THIS NUMBER" TRY GOING THROUGH THE WHOLE PROCESS ON YOUR PHONES INTERNET AND DOING THE EXACT SAME THING.

    I TRIED USING MY LAPTOP TO SEND THE NUMBER TO MY PHONE WHICH NEVER WORKED, AS SOON AS I WENT THROUGH THE SAME PROCESS ON MY PHONES INTERNET BROWSER, IT DID.

    HOPE THIS AT LEAST HELPS ONE PERSON OUT THERE!!

    It's the browser. I am on Firefox, and switching to Edge (just temporarily) worked for me.

    Do not wait for the "Next" button to turn blue, it won't. Instead click on "Send code" which looks like a blue link. I was expexting it to turn blue...

    I had this same issue and have successfully resolved it.

    When I was getting the "We cannot send a text message to this number" error message, I was using Chrome. On a hunch, I opened Microsoft Edge and tried it there.

    Microsoft texted me the code right away!

    Hopefully this helps some of you as well...

    I'm pretty surprised I've been trying with Chrome and it actually worked with Edge. Thanks, mate!

    Just replying to say that I had the same issue when trying to send the verification sms via Chrome.
    It worked via Edge.

    There is no technical reason why this cannot work with Chrome.

    But even if that was the case its completely unclear that you have to use Edge to send a verification sms.

    Hi! Just replying because this just happened to me! I tried it all and if you are using chrome I believe that is the problem. Use Microsoft Edge to do it and it worked!

    Some people have had success with Chrome and some swear by Edge...I have tried both browsers and the mobile browser on my phone and the Opera browser...no success...I needed a verification code from Chase Bank and received it via text without a problem...this is a software bug and it needs a Microsoft software programmer to fix the error...but I do not know of any way to alert Microsoft...can't speak with a human and I cannot find an email for them...
