MS Outlook signatures disappeared or missing after Office update

I have tried a similar fix and it works on my PC, but not on my laptop! I thought the whole justification for roaming signatures was that they would be accessible from whatever machine you logged into your account - not so!

Microsoft really know how to bugger things up and while they're at it they should look at the mysterious disappearance of 'replied to' icons which is the subject of another thread here and has been going on for years without a fix. Incredibly frustrating to reply to an email and not see it recorded by the icon. Works sometimes but not always!

First off, thanks, Microsoft, for shoving an update down our throats and implementing a major change without having an explanation, a warning, or a quick patch after the update. We pay for the software on multiple machines for my company, and this was an embarrassingly poor way to make a change.

Ok, my rant is over, and the actual fix is below...

I tried all of the registry edit timewasters, and they did not work. Don't waste your time.

What did work was going back in and resetting the signature from my local copy of Outlook. Here's how I did it (took just seconds and was not potentially detrimental, like updating the registry could be):

1. Click "New Email"
2. Click the "Message" tab
3. Click the Signature (drop-down) command on the command ribbon
4. Click the "Signatures..." selection (it might be the last item in the selection list)
5. Select the particular signature to edit (assuming that it remains on your Outlook copy)
6. Under Choose default signature, select in "New messages" drop-down list the signature to use
7. Click "Ok" and create a new email... the Signature should appear in the message now

Do the same thing for replies, if desired.

Read over this article, Outlook roaming signatures - Microsoft Support. It explains the new roaming signatures. Your current signatures should be under Signatures on this device. You will need to create new signatures and copy those to the new ones. After this you should not have to deal with it again. Please read the full article to understand what all to expect.

If you don't see Signatures on this device then that is unexpected. If that happened please submit an In App ticket (Help Contact Support) if that is an option to investigate it further.

Every time I recreate the signatures, they disappear the next time I open Outlook. I can always see them in "Signatures on this device" but they're not available to use in Outlook on my PC.

Any help would be appreciated as this is now happening to quite a few more on my team. We're hesitant to modify registries.

of course not. We know they don't care that WE have to do all this work as long at THEY don't have to do it.
This is an example of absolute incompetence.
I expect better.

This is absurd. While I appreciate the insight, I don't have the time or inclination to create work arounds because some idiot at microsoft was trying to save his job so came up with this stupid idea.
The person who did this needs to be fired.
