right click paste suddenly stopped working in outlook email

Normally I can use my mouse to highlight, copy and paste text and URL's from just about anywhere (files on my computer or online) and paste into the body of an email in outlook - have been doing this without any issue for more than five years.

Now, suddenly and without any changes made by me and without any obvious explanation -or solution- I can only copy and paste ONE time after a fresh sign in. Thereafter I cannot copy and paste with my mouse - when I attempt to, a different window opens, it has a paste option in the menu but it does nothing other than close the window.

I can paste with the mouse in the to, cc and subject fields as usual / normal - only the body of the email is affected.

I can paste into the body of the email from the keyboard with Ctr-V - please don't answer with that as the solution - it isn't, it's an alternative.

I am looking to fix the mouse problem - it is how I work and want to continue to work.

Thanks

p.s. Instructions here suggest inserting a screen shot - made two, tried inserting / uploading here but ... that appears not to work either - I don't see any screen shots here do you ?

    Hi

You are not the only one with this problem. I also am not able to paste text into email body. But your proposition using shortcuts actually works. I agree with you that it is not a solution. It suppose to work as it was working always.

In mac computer this shortcut is: COMMAND + V

Thank you for t his however, it does not work at all. I selected and refreshed and nothing, still.

At GoDaddy the agent told me I now have to use cntrl + V. that does work BUT I never had to do that at all, an added step.

When I use CHROME , which I dislike, rather than Firefox/DuckDuckGo, I receive a drop down which asks if I will allow (something) to access the notepad. When I accepted, no problem with C & P. Even when I then went to Firefox.

HOWEVER, after closing Firefox and restarting it, the permission no longer worked, back to CNTRL+ V.

This was never a problem in the past, Never. However, in the past 6 months or more, I can no longer C&P anything directly from the internet to an email and often to a word Doc (Open Office).

WHy does not Microsoft fix this issue? GoDaddy says they have received many, many complaints about this and the internet searches are also are replete with complaints about this issue, so why, I ask you, why does not Microsoft fix this??????

    Thank you.

Shortcuts may be different in different browser. I am not a computer specialists, but able to find solution to a problem.

Not only hotmail cause problem for users with pasting text. This does not happen on different browser. But I like my Safari. Microsoft and any other developer should not complicate life just because some people wants to use what they like and got use to.

Shortcut COMMAND+V, works on my MacBook Pro 2012

I still have mostly the exact same problem as you do Jan.

This has been going on for quite a while, and as you said many people have mentioned it to GoDaddy.

Microsoft has to be aware of it.

I have no idea why they ignore millions of their customers having a problem with their email system.

This could be the reason nobody wants to use their browser and why their phones failed, ignoring customer

    issues.

I had Windows phones and really liked them but they let the market slip away.
