Workaround for Outlook.com users experiencing duplicate Contacts after enabling Contact Sync in Teams App

If you are a Microsoft personal account user and have either Teams and Outlook apps installed (and Contact sync enabled in both) or the Phone Link installed, you might observe duplicate contacts in Outlook due to a recent issue with contact synchronization. You can use the below workaround to remove the device synced contacts and all the duplicates created by this issue. 

How to Delete Device Contacts Sub-Folder1. Go to Teams App on your mobile device (iOS or Android).1. Click on your Profile Icon Home and navigate to Settings and People. ![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/afbf6db3-0eb0-4476-af64-0923ac9dbbc2?platform=QnA device contacts in Outlook will be automatically deleted in a few days.

  • We will publish an update once the fix is available, after which users can re-enable the “Sync my device contacts” toggle in Teams.

    Good day - I have a similar problem with my Hotmail e-mail. Similar in that I cannot send or receive e-mail using my Hotmail account on my mobile device (Apple iPhone 14). However, I am not 100% disabled by this problem.

    I can indeed send and receive Hotmail on my desktop computer (Mac). Please provide any guidance you can to help me resume Hotmail e-mail communications via my mobile device. I do not have the Teams app installed on any device.

    Olá! Não consigo acessar minha conta de e-mail do outlook, mesmo após a limpeza do one drive, tem espaço, porem não atualiza para receber ou enviar e-mails.

    Buenas tardes

     Ya llevo un mes sin poder enviar o recibir correos. Prácticamente desde 09 de abril no recibo ni puedo enviar correos electrónicos.

    I just purchased individual 365, and the outlook account is a long string of numbers, not my name AND while i can send FROM the account, i cannot receive emails. How do I resolve this (I don't believe the duplicate contacts is the root issue?)
