How to get rid of a new tab on Outlook upper tool bar stating: Try the new Outlook. It recently popped up & replaced my "delete" tab, which is now inside the scroll down menu.

Edited to add: Note that the registry key applies only to classic Outlook desktop software (2016, 2019, 2021, Outlook in Microsoft Office 365 software). It does not work for Windows Mail.

You're talking about the button in my screenshot? It's not a toolbar but you can hide it using a registry key -

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\General
DWORD: HideNewOutlookToggle
Value: 1

Start typing regedit on the start menu and when the Registry Editor comes up, open it.

Browse to the path, right click on the right side and choose New > DWORD. Paste HideNewOutlookToggle, press enter then right click on it and choose modified and choose modify. change 0 to 1. \

Restart Outlook.

    Thank you for the clarification. This board is for home users of Outlook for Windows so DaveLangridge's suggestion <here> on page 8 of this thread to go to the Microsoft 365 Admin portal and create a new policy won't help most of the users following this thread.

    For now it appears the only option home users have to get rid of this annoying "Try the new Outlook" toggle switch is to create the HideNewOutlookToogle registry entry as you suggested in your 12-Feb-2023 post <here> on page 1 of this thread. I haven't created that registry entry yet and noticed that this toggle switch has not appeared my MS Outlook 2019 interface for the past 5 or 6 days, which is about the same time my MS Office 2019 C2R updated to Version 2308. However, I'm not confident that Microsoft has actually stopped nagging users with perpetual MS Outlook 2016 / 2019 / 2021 C2R licenses to switch to the preview / beta of the "new" Outlook for Windows progressive web app (PWA) because that toggle switch has been randomly disappearing and then re-appearing in my MS Outlook 2019 interface since it first appeared in May 2023.

    From your screenshot, you are not choosing the correct registry path. You have HKEY-CURRENT-USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook chosen. That is wrong. After Microsoft\Office you need to choose >16.0 then choose >Outlook\Options\General

    Hi All,

    According to the knowledge base article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online/outlook-on-the-web/enable-disable-employee-access-new-outlook, the registry key modification is only read by OLD outlook and you may be using a shortcut to directly start the NEW outlook client. See #2 under FAQ in this article.
