How to get rid of a new tab on Outlook upper tool bar stating: Try the new Outlook. It recently popped up & replaced my "delete" tab, which is now inside the scroll down menu.

Edited to add: Note that the registry key applies only to classic Outlook desktop software (2016, 2019, 2021, Outlook in Microsoft Office 365 software). It does not work for Windows Mail.

You're talking about the button in my screenshot? It's not a toolbar but you can hide it using a registry key -

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\General
DWORD: HideNewOutlookToggle
Value: 1

Start typing regedit on the start menu and when the Registry Editor comes up, open it.

Browse to the path, right click on the right side and choose New > DWORD. Paste HideNewOutlookToggle, press enter then right click on it and choose modified and choose modify. change 0 to 1. \

Restart Outlook.

    This new popup is so incredibly aggressive and infuriating to have rolled out this early. i tried the new Outlook and it's such a poor replacement for the simple mail app, i truly cannot understand the reasoning for the change.

    does anyone have a registry edit to get rid of the pop up in the standard mail app? i'll be migrating to Thunderbird after new year because the new outlook sucks but, in the meantime, i'm busy with year end work and the pop-up is so large and distracting and inescapable, i'm taking the time out of one of the busiest work weeks of my year to hopefully get rid of it.

    The new Outlook is a work in progress, so it will should improve But there are good 3rd party mail apps - eM client (free for up to 2 accounts) is my preferred.

    I don't use 365 {I uninstalled it}, the free Libre Office is fine for me, If forced to use Outlook when windows mail is retired then it will be by bye Microsoft for my emails, not having damn Microsoft tell me I have got to use Outlook when Windows mail is good for me, I'll use another app to combine all my email addresses.

    Adding a registry entry of

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences\UseNewOutlook DWORD = 0

    got the classic Outlook back for me, and removed the Search bar at the top

    This works after the Try new Outlook switch disappeared, after an update to version 2311, which was released on Nov 29.

    Worked on 2 PCs.
