How to get rid of a new tab on Outlook upper tool bar stating: Try the new Outlook. It recently popped up & replaced my "delete" tab, which is now inside the scroll down menu.

Edited to add: Note that the registry key applies only to classic Outlook desktop software (2016, 2019, 2021, Outlook in Microsoft Office 365 software). It does not work for Windows Mail.

You're talking about the button in my screenshot? It's not a toolbar but you can hide it using a registry key -

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\General
DWORD: HideNewOutlookToggle
Value: 1

Start typing regedit on the start menu and when the Registry Editor comes up, open it.

Browse to the path, right click on the right side and choose New > DWORD. Paste HideNewOutlookToggle, press enter then right click on it and choose modified and choose modify. change 0 to 1. \

Restart Outlook.

    It's a beta - that's why it says "Pre" on it. It's ok to try - but I would use the client you've been using for everyday use. you can use both so you can keep up with the changes - just pin the Pre icon to the Task bar and open your p[referred mail client.

    Were you using Outlook for Windows desktop or Windows Mail before?

    Thank you for getting back.

    I'm afraid of downloading what looks like is a full Registry file.

    Would you give me the attributes I need to add the new entry? As in : Name, Type, and Data.

    Or, a line of text that would show how the new entry would look?

    You can open the reg file in Notepad to see what is in it. (But make sure you use the right file - I had the link to the wrong key posted earlier... unless you also want to disable roaming signatures - then use both. :))

    Downloaded a legal and licensed copy of Office 2019 Home and Office. The only sub-topics I have under "Options" are Calendar, Mail and MSHTML.

    Dos one have to add a placeholder "General" sub-topic? If so what are its attributes?

    I did all that and it was already set to 1. Still there.
