Today ads started showing up at the top of my Outlook.com Inbox. They look like emails but I can't delete or block them. In the past ads did show up on the right had side and I could live with that but I don't want them at the top of my Inbox.
I want important emails at the top of my inbox not ads. And don't tell me that this is because I have a free account. My google email account is free and it puts all ads where they belong under a Promotions tab where I can ignore them.
How do I correct this?

Exactly! Who in their right mind would decide to invest in a company just because they ran an ad in their email server? I don't think these ads generate any business for the companies who are paying money to run these ads.
this is totally disgusting.... invading the message inbox with ads which cannot even be stopped or reported as spam. is microsoft poor???? or just wanting people to change services?? what ever happened to true privacy?? i will never address any ad in my inbox!!! what else does EDGE know?? if ads are allowed into my messages, ANYTHING can be allowed. there is NO privacy NOR security. microsoft, you have screwed yourself!
This ad feature is not an email and is allowed and facilitated by Microsoft into our inboxes. Microsoft should provide a way to universally and freely opt out of it. Gmail is free and has no ad facilitation. Thanks.
I did find a work around. If I use the installed Windows mail app then there are no ads. I can still see all my email folders and have access to my contacts. Just need to get used to the format.
Same with me -- Today ads started showing up at the top of my Outlook.com Inbox. They look like emails but I can't delete or block them. If this doesn't stop soon, I will be switching to another email provider.
