Ads in Inbox

Today ads started showing up at the top of my Outlook.com Inbox. They look like emails but I can't delete or block them. In the past ads did show up on the right had side and I could live with that but I don't want them at the top of my Inbox.

I want important emails at the top of my inbox not ads. And don't tell me that this is because I have a free account. My google email account is free and it puts all ads where they belong under a Promotions tab where I can ignore them.

How do I correct this?

    I installed uBlock Origin yesterday. Voila! All of these very annoying ads are now gone. I also tested email to make sure this product did not strip too deep by comparing with another system without the module; all good. This prodct uses a different method of stripping **** from the data and seems to work brilliantly!

    Hi that’s great

    I only seem to get the ads when I open on the app on my phone don’t get them on the laptop?

    Would that ad block work on a I phone?

    I will never ever buy from these annoying ads and if it continues I will move to another email provider

    hover the mouse pointer over the ad and click the trash can icon

    that indeed keeps the first line of your inbox free from ads for the remainder of the Outlook session

    I know, it is a temporary solution, for starting a new Outlook session does (also pressing F5 does) bring up a new ad

    but then: one click isn't too much of a hassle, isn't it?

    there is - and this is a nasty one - a solution that is quite drastic, but I'm convinced this will keep some companies from posing ads in the future: when we all - BEFORE CLICKING THE TRASH CAN - click the ad repeatedly - let's propose a hundred times - then their costs will increase dramatically. IF WE ALL DO THIS WORLD WIDE, wow, see what happens...

    This is because companies are charged for every click on an ad... I know that from a family member that is an employee of a company that advertises on Google.

    Be sure, a world wide action like this will bring peace in our inboxes...
