Ads in Inbox

Today ads started showing up at the top of my Outlook.com Inbox. They look like emails but I can't delete or block them. In the past ads did show up on the right had side and I could live with that but I don't want them at the top of my Inbox.

I want important emails at the top of my inbox not ads. And don't tell me that this is because I have a free account. My google email account is free and it puts all ads where they belong under a Promotions tab where I can ignore them.

How do I correct this?

    I have changed email app. I will only use outlook for contact functions, but to be honest, if that's the only thing I'll use outlook for, I may as well migrate it all elsewhere.

    Very disappointed.

    That's an interesting thought. I am getting mightily annoyed at the number of ads that are appearing. It looks like GMAIL will be my email provider if this does not stop very soon.

    Today they have started arriving every half hour or so. This really ain't on!!!!!!!

    I think the ads may be appearing as a result of the Brexit deal that was negotiated. When the UK was in the EU, it was protected under EU privacy laws. I think that is not the case now.

    Now I know why you have a filter to block junk, your the ones sending the junk. I am now getting an ad in my inbox from Microsoft and MS just said you can't block it. It's like doing something to my car to make it break down and also owning the towing truck.

    Dave, why don't you create a filter for stupid ideas.
