Today ads started showing up at the top of my Outlook.com Inbox. They look like emails but I can't delete or block them. In the past ads did show up on the right had side and I could live with that but I don't want them at the top of my Inbox.
I want important emails at the top of my inbox not ads. And don't tell me that this is because I have a free account. My google email account is free and it puts all ads where they belong under a Promotions tab where I can ignore them.
How do I correct this?

Exactly! Who in their right mind would decide to invest in a company just because they ran an ad in their email server? I don't think these ads generate any business for the companies who are paying money to run these ads.
I refuse to purchase anything from unsolicited ads. They are wasting their time and money with me. Also, why do they come to my inbox and not my junk mail folder?
I have outlook account for a very long time. This inbox ad idea is the worse thing ever. I am going to transfer my email account to Gmail if this feature is not disable. Whosoever came up with this idea forgot that you need to make your customers happy and not annoyed.

At first I thought I couldn't delete them like I delete other emails but then I figured out that to the right of the from line and before the subject line are some icons and one of them is the trash can. Click on that to delete the ad. I agree they are very annoying.
The ad currently sitting at the top of my In-box is for Amazon.
Do Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos really need to make more money off the annoyance of we the users?
