Today ads started showing up at the top of my Outlook.com Inbox. They look like emails but I can't delete or block them. In the past ads did show up on the right had side and I could live with that but I don't want them at the top of my Inbox.
I want important emails at the top of my inbox not ads. And don't tell me that this is because I have a free account. My google email account is free and it puts all ads where they belong under a Promotions tab where I can ignore them.
How do I correct this?

I agree this is absurd that Microsoft is flooding our email accounts with ads. I deal with enough junk mail and now I need to put up with Microsoft sending unwanted ads directly to my inbox. Does this company have any conscience or business ethics? Stop this nonsense now!!!!
I have the very same issue. I will give it a lttle time to see if they fix it. If not, I will be paying for a new email service without ads, but it will not be Microsoft.

First one i got was for wedding clothes.
The second one was for La Redoute who i have been a customer of for nearly 30 years, they send me their own emails I dont need this in my inbox. Its hard enough keeping out the junk in the first place without Microsoft legitimising junk emails on top of that.
Ruth, I agree with you. It's a pain to see those email ADS, and then I inadvertently click on one and wait until the browser opens and I have to close it. How long before it's more than just one ad and your Inbox is full of ads. They can continue to use screen space on the right but stay out of my Inbox. I think I'll check on Gmail also.
Putting unwanted ads in the inbox is totally unacceptable! User should choose what goes there.
