Ads in Inbox

Today ads started showing up at the top of my Outlook.com Inbox. They look like emails but I can't delete or block them. In the past ads did show up on the right had side and I could live with that but I don't want them at the top of my Inbox.

I want important emails at the top of my inbox not ads. And don't tell me that this is because I have a free account. My google email account is free and it puts all ads where they belong under a Promotions tab where I can ignore them.

How do I correct this?

    I'm not sure if it began after the last update, but it's only been a few weeks, so that's a definite possibility. It is very annoying! I'm not real happy about the ads that have been shown forever on the edge of Outlook, but understand they are a business, and have to make money. However, I am really pi....d about them sending email ads. I have seen many, many others that are equally ticked. I'm wondering if anyone from Microsoft is actually reading all this negative feedback! Someone from Microsoft should write an official response!!!

    Microsoft knows exactly what is going on. Contrary to popular belief they will not abandon email ad’s to your inbox. This is a revenue producing practice. Just imagine the number of unintended clicks they get by people forgetting or not knowing the top email is really an ad. The revenue for all these clicks must be enormous. I don’t want another ad blocker, so I have trained myself to delete the ad email first before answering business and personal emails.

    I am equally as determined to move away from outlook if ads continue in my email inbox. What an invasion!
