Ads in Inbox

Today ads started showing up at the top of my Outlook.com Inbox. They look like emails but I can't delete or block them. In the past ads did show up on the right had side and I could live with that but I don't want them at the top of my Inbox.

I want important emails at the top of my inbox not ads. And don't tell me that this is because I have a free account. My google email account is free and it puts all ads where they belong under a Promotions tab where I can ignore them.

How do I correct this?

    Hopeful Microsoft corrects this during next major update like past blunders. Should be receiving enough heat on this one to override any income they get from the advertisers.

    Totally agee

    First one i got was for wedding clothes.

    The second one was for La Redoute who i have been a customer of for nearly 30 years, they send me their own emails I dont need this in my inbox. Its hard enough keeping out the junk in the first place without Microsoft legitimising junk emails on top of that.

    did your's start after the last update? Me too. I think they're pushing to get people to pay for the ad free so they're going to annoy the **** out of us. Hey fine, I can just go to my gmail account and quit using this

    Just had my first one this morning.
    Sorry, but that's just really inconvenient. Many years with Hotmail will come to an end if this is retained.

    Happy with the adds down the right hand side, but sitting at the top of my inbox really is a step too far.
